Claims, and everything before them

Advice, placement and claims are one job for us. Here is how each step works, and what to do on the day something goes wrong.

How we work

We begin with your risk, not a product. We ask about what you own, what you do and what you could not afford to lose, then set out the cover that fits and what it leaves out.

We place the policy with an insurer we trust, explain the schedule and the exclusions, and diarise the renewal so cover never lapses. When a claim arises we help you assemble it and follow up until it is settled.

We are an intermediary. The insurer assesses and pays the claim under the terms of your policy. Our job is to make sure the claim is complete, on time and chased.

  1. Tell us about your riskA conversation, or a short form. We work out what needs covering.
  2. We compare and adviseYou get a clear recommendation with the reasons, the limits and the exclusions.
  3. We place the coverYou confirm, pay the premium to the insurer and receive your policy documents.
  4. We keep you coveredWe remind you before renewal and review whether your cover still fits.
  5. We guide your claimFrom the first call to the final settlement, we stay in the loop.
When something goes wrong

What to do after a loss.

These steps apply to most claims. Your policy sets the exact notice period and conditions, so check it too.

  1. Make it safeProtect people first, then stop further loss where you can do so safely.
  2. Tell us and the insurer quicklyLate notice can put a claim at risk. Call us and we will help you notify the insurer.
  3. Keep the evidenceTake photographs, keep damaged items until the insurer has seen them, and keep receipts for emergency costs.
  4. Report crime and accidentsFor theft, and for road accidents, report to the police and obtain the police abstract.
  5. Do not admit liabilityDo not agree a settlement with anyone else before speaking to the insurer.
  6. Send us the documentsWe will tell you exactly which forms and proofs the insurer needs, and check them before we submit.
